BNY Mellon: Your Steadfast Partner Amid Unprecedented Disruption

I hope you and your families are safe and well. As most of us adjust to the new normal of a remote working environment, it’s remarkable to watch the business community adapt to the widespread impact of coronavirus. On behalf of all of my BNY Mellon colleagues, I want you to know we are with you and committed to serving you with the full strength of our company.

Over the last few days, various jurisdictions around the world where we operate – including the U.S., India, the United Kingdom, and other European nations - have instituted a variety of regulations and restrictions to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus. These actions are necessary for the benefit of society, but may pose operational and logistical challenges for some global companies across a variety of sectors.

In anticipation of government actions such as these, and to protect our employees’ wellbeing and continue to service our clients, we have continued to increase the number of global employees working remotely.

We regularly test our business continuity and resiliency, including remote work testing, to ensure we are prepared to support our clients. Today, a very large percentage of our workforce is working remotely, and we are practicing social distancing for our essential in-office employees. We have sufficient capacity to support demand for concurrent remote use and, due to our robust global footprint, we have the ability to shift work to other regions as needed.

BNY Mellon plays a critical role in supporting our clients and the global financial markets, and we take this role very seriously. You’ve placed your trust in us, and our people are working hard to deliver on our promise to support you during this challenging time.

Despite the multitude and magnitude of government actions, we are operational in all of our geographies and we are taking every necessary step to stay that way. Of course, given the extraordinary levels of market activity, some activities may take longer than usual, but this has so far been very limited. We appreciate your patience and continue to welcome your feedback. Please continue to contact your Relationship Manager or Service Director if you need support or have any additional questions.

We will continue to update you as the situation evolves. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

As you have come to expect from us, we are here to serve you as your steadfast partner amid uncertain and unprecedented times. Over 235 years, we’ve helped our clients navigate tumultuous, historic events…you can count on us to be here for you through this one as well.
