Digitising Global Trade: Seizing the moment and interconnecting ecosystems

Efforts to digitise trade have moved faster in the last few years than they have in the last few decades. Digital documents are gaining acceptance – over 10 countries are adopting the MLETR with more on the way – and the industry is investing in innovative technologies and awareness on the need for industry-wide standards. In this session we’ll explore what we as a community need to do to accelerate trade digitisation in this complex ecosystem. And focus on strategies for adoption to help realise a frictionless digital economy.

Advancing Cross-Border Payments to Adapt to an Instant Payment World

With instant payment adoption storming around the globe, some regions are working to apply the benefits of an instant payment to cross border needs.  Though cross-border payment methods exist today, there are key limitations around time, cost and convenience. In this session, we’ll discuss a case study that addresses the obstacles and progress in true cross-border real-time payments and why this is a necessary conversation for both businesses and consumers. We’ll also shed light on the work being done elsewhere in the world in Asia, Europe and Africa, and the Immediate Cross-Border Payments (IXB) pilot that will enable new payment corridors into and out of the U.S.

Wednesday, 23 October
15:15-16:00 GMT+8
Room 307A/B

A New Era of Exception Management: Smart, fast and efficient

While the industry has transformed payments over the last decade, exception and investigation management is still catching up. When friction occurs, costs and end-customer satisfaction are negatively impacted due to slow and inefficient processes. ISO 20022 and centralised case management orchestration represent a unique opportunity for the industry to modernise investigation processes, maximise efficiency and drastically reduce costs. Join this session to discover how we’re making this vision a reality and how your peers are assessing the value.
