Human Rights Statement

At BNY, we consider human dignity paramount, and work to preserve human rights throughout our company and our supply chain. Our actions are guided by our Human Rights Statement, and we apply these principles to all the entities with which we do business, as well as our employees, suppliers, communities, and other stakeholders. 

BNY is committed to the protection and preservation of fundamental human rights around the world. We are guided by international standards such as the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Labor Organization (ILO) Core Conventions, and United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and by our participation as a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.

Human Rights in the Supply Chain


BNY’s Supplier Code of Conduct (the “Code”) describes certain basic expectations and requirements for suppliers. As a practicing advocate of health and safety, labor and human rights, environmental sustainability, diversity and inclusion, ethics and other responsible business practices, BNY holds its suppliers to the same standards of excellence.
