“BNY Mellon is an active champion for LGBT+ equality, advocating for legislative actions in the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland and other areas we call home,” said Dario Parente, BNY Mellon’s Managing Director of EMEA Strategic Programs and Global Co-Chair of PRISM, the company’s LGBT+ employee resource group. “We’re proud to add our voice and influence to accelerate progress for LGBT+ professionals and communities around the world and, from a personal perspective, I feel more deeply committed to a company that so clearly demonstrates alignment with my values.”

“We’re also proud to support the LGBT+ community through volunteer and pro bono efforts that provide our people with opportunities to apply their skills and expertise to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” noted Erik Beck, BNY Mellon’s Managing Director of Global Client Management and Global Co-Chair of PRISM. “For example, our legal teams help transgender people change their names to match their gender identity, and through our membership with OUTstanding, we facilitate professional development opportunities for emerging LGBT talent.”

“Congratulations to BNY Mellon for creating an inclusive work environment that makes it safe for LGBT Asian employees to be their authentic selves,” said David W. Reid, Executive Director for Corporate Programs and Talent Initiatives at Asia Society. “BNY Mellon’s leadership takes a holistic approach to its inclusive practices for LGBT Asian employees, and really understands why taking a stand for its people in and outside the organization is great for their business and for society.”

The awards are based on the results of the Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Survey, a national benchmark study about the growth, development and advancement of APA employees in Fortune 500 companies. Winners were selected based on a statistical analysis of internal employee surveys distributed to APAs and an external judging panel.
