Jennifer Barker is the Global Head of Payments & Trade and Depositary Receipts at BNY, a global financial services company. In addition, she acts as Head of Europe, leading client relationships and strategy development across the region.

BNY’s Global Payments and Trade business provides cutting-edge domestic and cross-border payments, trade finance and cash management solutions to clients around the world. In addition, BNY’s leading Depositary Receipts business facilitates financing in the global capital markets by delivering customized and market-driven solutions for issuers, brokers and investors. In 2024 and 2025, Jennifer was named one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking.

Jennifer is an established client-focused leader with proven expertise in digital transformation and developing innovative solutions rooted in connectivity, speed and reliability across the digital journey. Before joining BNY, Jennifer spent 19 years at J.P. Morgan, where she held senior roles across treasury services, spanning both the U.S. and Asia. Jennifer began her career at Accenture where she spent five years in various consulting roles.

She is a self-declared “pay-it-forward” person and strongly believes in the importance of mentorship and sponsorship when it comes to the development and leadership of younger generations. Jennifer has sponsored several culture initiatives particularly focused on the development and advancement of women in finance. Jennifer served as the Executive Sponsor for the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), BNY’s employee resource group supporting the advancement of women, in 2023 and 2024. Jennifer’s father served in the United States Army for 30 years, and she now proudly serves as the Executive Sponsor for VetNet, BNY’s employee resource group supporting BNY’s veterans, military spouses, family members and their colleagues.

Jennifer holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. She serves on the Ross School of Business Advisory Board, sits on the board of Physicians for Peace and is the Global Chair of the 30% Club.
