CORPORATE GIVING

AND COMMUNITY

CHAMPIONS

A spirit of citizenship and service has inspired our
philanthropic work for more than two centuries.

COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS IN ACTION

We invite employees at all levels of the company to make a difference by being community champions. Eligible employees may take up to three days of paid volunteer time per year and receive company-matching donations for their time. BNY also incentivizes charitable donations to nonprofits by matching employees’ donations.

Since the program’s 2008 launch, BNY employees have volunteered 1.5 million hours, valued at $47 million, with employee donations and company matching accounting for nearly $200 million to nonprofit organizations around the globe.*

EMPOWERING
COMMUNITIES

Aligning with BNY’s role in powering success across the financial world for individuals and institutions, we focus our corporate giving on empowering communities in order to give everyone an opportunity to thrive.

We aim to advance an inclusive economy by addressing unequal access to opportunities and financial systems. Through our grants, we are helping support social mobility, strengthen financially underserved communities and build a more resilient future. In an effort to foster innovation, our grants focus on strengthening technology capabilities for small business and nonprofits.

Support for eligible organizations

BNY will consider support for organizations that fit within our funding priorities and the company’s geographical footprint. In the United States, the organization must have an IRS designation of 501(c)(3). Organizations in other countries must meet requirements for their respective country’s governance.
