If there is mutual interest, selected students will be invited to participate in our pre-internship programs.

Eligibility

WHO CAN BE A BNY PRE-INTERN?

Undergraduates

First- and second-year U.S. undergraduate students not requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future.

All Majors

Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college pursuing a bachelor’s degree; strong focus on business-related and/or computer science-related majors.

Academic Qualifications

We look for early career candidates who demonstrate strong academic performance and are in good standing at their university. Academic requirements vary by region and program, and applicants should meet the minimum GPA, degree classification, or equivalent academic standard for the location in which they are applying.

Freshman Jumpstart
Sophomore Summit

FRESHMAN JUMPSTART

 

A virtual summer experience consisting of two interactive half-day sessions designed exclusively for first-year undergraduate students interested in discovering career opportunities in financial services

Program Highlights:

  • Explore the Industry: Gain exposure to the world of financial services through engaging spotlight sessions that introduce key business areas and the skills shaping the future of the industry. 
  • Hear from Emerging Professionals: Connect with current interns and analysts who will share firsthand experiences, career insights, and advice for navigating your early career journey. 
  • Accelerate Your Professional Growth: Participate in workshops focused on networking, personal branding, and strategies to help you maximize your undergraduate experience. 
  • Build Career-Ready Skills: Strengthen your critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities through interactive discussions and hands-on learning.

 

Program Dates & Tracks: 

  • Business & Corporate Functions: Tuesday, July 13 to Wednesday, July 14, 2027.
     

Eligibility: 

  • Undergraduate first-year students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university with an expected graduation date of December 2029 or May 2030.

BNY Freshman Jumpstart

SOPHOMORE SUMMIT

 

A virtual summer experience consisting of three dynamic sessions across six weeks, designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to help launch your career in the financial services industry.

Program Highlights:

  • Discover Your Career Path: Explore the many areas of financial services and identify opportunities aligned with your interests and goals. 
  • Learn from Those Who’ve Been There: Hear directly from current interns and analysts about their experiences and how BNY supports early career development at every stage. 
  • Solve Real-World Challenges: Put your skills to work through a business case study or coding challenge focused on innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving. 
  • Create Pathways to Future Opportunities: Be considered for the Summer Internship Program and take the next step in your BNY journey.
     

Program Dates & Tracks: 

  • Engineering & Technology Track: Wednesdays: May 19, June 2, and June 16 
  • Business & Corporate Track: Wednesdays: May 26, June 9 and June 23
     

Eligibility: Undergraduate second-year students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university with an expected graduation date of December 2028 or May 2029.
