Joseph Schultz is the Global Head of Distribution for BNY Investments. He leads global client engagement and business development across institutional, intermediary, and direct-to-consumer channels, partnering with clients to deliver outcomes, deepen relationships, and enhance the overall client experience.
Over more than three decades in the industry, Joseph has built and led high-performing, client-centric organizations and developed talent at scale, embedding a culture of accountability and collaboration across complex global teams. Prior to joining BNY in 2026, he spent 12 years at American Century Investments as Chief Client Officer and member of the Management Committee, responsible for global distribution, client service, marketing, and brand. He also served as executive co-sponsor of the firm’s largest business resource group focused on engaging and developing women.
Earlier in his career, Joseph served as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was Head of North America Wealth Management Sales and Head of Global Strategic Relationship Management, responsible for strategy, business development, and deepening relationships with the firm’s largest clients across equity, fixed income, and alternative investment solutions. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Joseph held senior leadership roles at Prudential Financial and PaineWebber.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Fordham University. He has contributed to industry organizations as former Chairman of the Board of the Money Management Institute, a board member of the Insured Retirement Institute, as well as a member of AIMR-NY, the Society of Security Analysts, and the Investment Company Institute Distribution and Marketing Committee. He is a CFA1charter-holder and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses.
