The Bank of New York Company, Inc. to Present at U. S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray 2003 Financial Services Conference

NEW YORK, N.Y., October 24, 2003 - The Bank of New York Company, Inc. announced today that Bruce W. Van Saun, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, is scheduled to present at the U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray 2003 Financial Services Conference on Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at the New York Palace hotel in New York City.  The presentation will include information about the Company’s core businesses, recent financial performance and future outlook.
